EL SOLITARIO DESERT WOLVES – WORDS BY GARETH ROBERTS

‘Oil in The Blood’ came into fruition in 2016. I had witnessed motorcycling go through a renaissance. In hindsight my somewhat stagnating passion for motorcycles had become revitalised by an explosion in creativity and anarchy, fuelled by a rejection of the old tribal misogyny that had previously plagued motorcycle culture.

As the motorcycling world gathers for the largest motorcycle show on the planet, El Solitario, known for pushing the boundaries of two-wheeled culture, unveils a powerful new work of art presenting a future of motorcycling in a world of increasingly oppressive safety regulations, that is simultaneously pushing towards autonomous vehicles and virtual ‘experiences’.

LAB2V 2023 // YAMAHA MAKE IT HAPPEN

After Thanksgiving, we load our bikes and become desert wolves. Metaphorically (for now) in the form of LA-Barstow-to-Vegas [LAB2V] desert ride in the desert between the cities of Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

As for the ride itself: Delightful.
But the task is never without its challenges.
